Redmi K30 Packs Two Punch Holes Instead Of Single Pill-Shaped Cutout
Xiaomi recently launched the Redmi K30 duo along with a punch hole notch. At the time of launch, it was believed that the phone has a single pill-shaped cutout at the top of the display to house the dual camera setup. Now, it has been confirmed that the phone has two circular punch holes and the space between the two is masked by software.
It is interesting to note that the company did not reveal this feature and it was spotted by a third party. In fact, all the official renders of the Redmi K30 series shows a pill-shaped punch-hole display instead of dual punch holes.
This feature can be tweaked from the display settings menu, where one can select to see two individual punch holes, or a single pill-shaped hole, or the entire top portion can be greyed out. As the Redmi K30 and the K30 5G uses an IPS panel, selecting either of these options might not save any battery.
The Redmi K30 and the K30 5G comes with a dual front-facing camera with a primary camera setup consisting of four cameras. For the selfies, these phones offer a 20MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. Similarly, for the main camera setup, the duo offers a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide angle lens, 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The main difference between the Redmi K30 and the Redmi K30 5G is the processor, the K30 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, whereas the latter is based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G 5G with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage.
The Redmi K30 has a 4,500 mAh battery and it does support 27W fast charging via the USB Type C port. On to the software, both phones run on MIUI 11 based on Android 10 OS.
