Redmi K80 Ultra and Redmi K Pad Launch Officially Confirmed: Here’s What to Expect

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil the Redmi K80 Ultra, the latest addition to its high-end Redmi K80 series, following last year's Redmi K70 Ultra. Alongside this, Xiaomi will introduce the Redmi K Pad, marking its debut in the flagship compact tablet segment. Thomas Wang, head of Redmi China, highlighted the challenges in creating a flagship tablet, particularly in achieving a compact and lightweight design.

The Redmi K Pad is set to feature an industry-leading LCD screen with ultra-high resolution and dual-driver ICs for data synchronisation, brightness, and colour. To maintain a slim profile and reduced weight, Xiaomi has incorporated specialised core components such as motors, speakers, and screens. Each customised device undergoes a rigorous verification process involving trial production of over 100 machines and extensive whole-machine testing.

Redmi K Pad: A New Era in Compact Tablets

As Redmi's first flagship small tablet, the K Pad will introduce several innovative technologies not previously seen on Android tablets. Wang expressed confidence that it will exceed expectations. He stated that the tablet aims to surpass the iPad mini in every aspect and emerge as the most luxurious compact tablet within a price range of 4000 yuan (approximately USD 557 or Rs. 47,995).

Reports suggest that the tablet will boast an 8.8-inch 3K LCD CSOT screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and a refresh rate of 165Hz. Additionally, it will support fast charging at 67W. This combination promises to deliver an exceptional user experience for those seeking high performance in a compact form factor.

Redmi K80 Ultra: Performance Redefined

The upcoming Redmi K80 Ultra is expected to be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 9400+ processor. It will feature a substantial 7400mAh battery with support for rapid charging at 120W. According to Thomas Wang, this phone is poised to be the most luxurious performance leader within its sub-3000 yuan (approximately USD 418 or Rs. 36,005) price bracket.

The launch of both the Redmi K80 Ultra and the Redmi K Pad is anticipated in China around early July. These devices are set to redefine expectations in their respective categories by offering cutting-edge features at competitive prices.
