Redmi K90 Max Launch Set For April 21: Cooling Fan, 165Hz Display Confirmed
After a few teasers over the past week, Redmi has now confirmed that the K90 Max will launch in China on April 21. The phone will sit between the Redmi K90 and K90 Pro Max, which are already available.

Display
The K90 Max will feature a 6.83-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate. Redmi says more than 40 games can run at up to 165fps, along with optimizations for darker scenes in games.
Peak brightness is rated at 3500 nits, which should help with visibility in different lighting conditions.
The Cooling System Is The Real Highlight
What really stands out is the built-in fan-based cooling system. This is the first time Redmi is bringing something like this to its phones.
It uses a vertical air intake design measuring 18.1mm, with airflow rated at up to 0.42CFM. The goal here is simple: keep temperatures under control during longer gaming sessions so performance stays consistent.
Redmi says the system sits on a suspended structure that doesn’t interfere with the motherboard layout. At the same time, the phone still manages to retain IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, which isn’t something you usually see alongside active cooling.
Performance And Battery
The device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500, built on a 3nm process. There’s also an additional graphics chip aimed at improving gaming performance.
Battery capacity is expected to be between 8000mAh and 8,500mAh, with support for 100W wired charging.
Other expected features include an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, dual speakers with custom tuning, and a metal frame.
More Devices At The Event
Alongside the K90 Max, Redmi will also launch the K Pad 2, the Pad 2 SE, and new Redmi Book Pro (2026) models in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes at the same event.
