Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi K90 series and Redmi Watch 6 in China tomorrow. The line-up will include the Redmi K90 and Redmi K90 Pro Max; both of which feature an iPhone-inspired camera island with audio tuned by Bose. We expect the Redmi K90 Pro Max price in China to start from under CNY 4,000 (roughly Rs 49,250), making it one of the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 smartphones to date. While the K90 Pro Max might not be unveiled in India anytime soon, it could make its global debut as the Poco F8 Ultra.

Apart from the Snapdragon chip, the device will feature a robust 7,560 mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 22.5W reverse wired charging. It is also compatible with 100W PPS chargers. To ensure optimal performance, Xiaomi has equipped this device with its largest vapor chamber for cooling purposes.

This complements the Snapdragon processor and the new "AI independent display chip" D2 included in the device. The smartphone boasts a large 6.9-inch OLED display with a full RGB sub-pixel arrangement. It includes DC dimming at all brightness levels and features a circular polarizer. The screen can dim to just 1-nit for eye comfort.

On the camera side, it has a main sensor similar to the Xiaomi 17 model, measuring 1/1.31". Additionally, there is a 50 MP ultrawide camera and Redmi's first periscope telephoto lens offering up to 5x optical zoom and "lossless" zoom up to 10x with optical image stabilization (OIS).

A brief hands-on video showcased the K90 Pro Max in three colours: classic black, white, and a denim-inspired shade matching the presenter's attire. The phone will also feature "Sound by Bose," integrating a loudspeaker into the rear camera island.
