Redmi K90 Ultra Launched with Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC, 165Hz AMOLED Display, Active Cooling Fan

Xiaomi has expanded its flagship Redmi K series in China with the launch of the Redmi K90 Ultra. Designed for gamers and power users, the smartphone combines Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with a 165Hz AMOLED display, an integrated active cooling fan, and a massive 8,550mAh battery with 100W fast charging.

The handset also brings Tencent-backed gaming optimisations, making it one of the most feature-packed Redmi flagships to date. Here's everything you need to know about its price, availability, features, and specifications.

Redmi K90 Ultra Price and Availability

The Redmi K90 Ultra is currently available exclusively in China in Black, Silver, and Blue colour options. Xiaomi is also offering a limited-period introductory discount for early buyers, although the standard retail prices are as follows:

• 12GB RAM + 256GB storage: 2,999 yuan (approximately Rs. 41,800)
• 16GB RAM + 256GB storage: 3,199 yuan (approximately Rs. 44,600)
• 12GB RAM + 512GB storage: 3,499 yuan (approximately Rs. 48,750)
• 16GB RAM + 512GB storage: 3,699 yuan (approximately Rs. 51,550)

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed whether the Redmi K90 Ultra will make its way to global markets, including India. However, given the company's history, the handset could eventually arrive in select regions under a different branding.

Redmi K90 Ultra Features and Specifications

The Redmi K90 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm's flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with a dedicated D2 discrete graphics chip for improved gaming performance and higher frame rates. The phone offers up to 16GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring smooth multitasking and faster app loading.

One of its biggest highlights is the physical active cooling fan, which operates at just 32dB to keep thermals under control during extended gaming sessions. Xiaomi says the cooling module also carries IPX8 and IPX9 ratings, while the phone itself is certified IP66, IP68, and IP69 for dust and water resistance.

The handset sports a 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness, making it suitable for gaming and outdoor use.

Powering the device is a massive 8,550mAh Jinshajiang battery with 100W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging support. Xiaomi has also included a battery bypass charging feature that powers the motherboard directly during gaming, reducing heat buildup and helping preserve long-term battery health.

For photography, the Redmi K90 Ultra features a 50MP primary camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) alongside an 8MP ultra-wide sensor. A 20MP front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls.

The smartphone also includes a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a linear haptic motor, and Bose-tuned stereo speakers for an enhanced multimedia experience.
