Redmi Note 12S Could Debut in Q2 2023: Report

The Redmi Note 12S will reportedly join the Note 12 series set to debut in the global market. Redmi's latest smartphone lineup includes the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+. The Note 12S could likely be launched in the second quarter of 2023.

Redmi Note 12S in the Works

According to tipster Kacper Skrzypek, Redmi is preparing to launch the Note 12S smartphone. He adds that sales could commence in mid-May in Europe. Skrzypek claims that the smartphone will feature a MediaTek SoC. However, he doesn't have any details about the exact processor.

The tipster adds that the Redmi Note 12S was spotted with two codenames-"Sea" and "Ocean." He states that one codename could stand for the NFC model and the other for the non-NFC version.

Additionally, the leaker claims that Xiaomi's distributors in Europe have expressed that the Redmi Note 12S will begin sales in mid-May. Meanwhile, previous reports suggested that other models in the Redmi Note 12 series would arrive earlier in European markets, most likely by April.

Redmi Note 11S Features

The Redmi Note 12S succeeds the mid-range Note 11S, launched in January last year. The Redmi Note 11S sports a 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels. The display has a refresh rate of 90Hz and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

The Note 11S features a MediaTek Helio G96 SoC, with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage. The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging. It boots Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box.

As for imaging, the Note 11 S features a quad-camera array comprising a 108MP primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. At the front, there's a 16MP camera for selfies.
