Redmi Note 12S Launched: Check Specs, Features, And Prices Of Midrange Android Smartphone From Xiaomi

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 12S. As the name indicates it is a part of the Redmi Note 12 series, which seems to be growing with each passing month.

The Redmi Note 12S is the tenth Android smartphone under the Redmi Note 12 series. Xiaomi has launched Redmi Note 12 4G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 4G, Redmi Note 12 5G, Redmi Note 12R Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition, and Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition but only a few of these models have landed in India. The brand recently announced the Redmi Note 12 Turbo 5G as well.

Redmi Note 12S Specifications, Features

The Note 12S features a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, 409 PPI pixel density, and 1000 nits peak brightness. The 1080p display features a 45,00,000: 1 contrast ratio.

The Redmi Note 12S smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G96 SoC, which means the smartphone is limited to 4G networks. The octa-core chipset has a Mali G57 GPU. The smartphone gets 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. There's no other RAM + storage variant.

Xiaomi has embedded a triple camera setup on the back of the Note 12S, headlined by a 108MP primary camera with an f/1.9 aperture. There's an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro camera on the back with an LED flash. The handset features a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies, video calls, and face unlock. There's a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication as well.

The Redmi Note 12S has a 5000mAh battery unit, with support for 33W wired fast charging, via a USB Type-C port, which also doubles up data transfers. The Redmi smartphone features a stereo speaker setup and even has a dedicated microSD card slot.

Connectivity options on the Redmi Note 12S include Dual-SIM, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, Glonass, and BeiDou. The Redmi smartphone weighs 176 grams and measures 159.87 × 73.87 × 8.09mm. It runs Android 13-based MIUI 14 out of the box.

Redmi Note 12S Price, Launch, and Availability

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12S is available in a single 8GB + 256GB configuration. The smartphone ships in Ice Blue, Pearl Green, and Onyx Black color options.

The Redmi Note 12S has launched outside China. It is currently available in Poland for Polish Zloty 1499.00 (approx. ₹29,500). Xiaomi hasn't confirmed if or when the Redmi Note 12S will launch in India.
