Redmi Note 17 5G Launched in India with 8,000mAh Battery, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, 120Hz AMOLED Display

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 17 5G in India as the first smartphone in the Redmi Note 17 series. The handset arrives weeks after its debut in China and brings a large 8,000mAh battery, 120Hz AMOLED display, and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset. It also ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and will be available via Amazon and Xiaomi's online store.

The Redmi Note 17 5G price in India starts from Rs 27,999 for the base 6GB/128GB model. Moreover, the 8GB/128GB configuration will set you back Rs 30,999.

As part of the launch offers, buyers can avail an instant discount of ₹3,000 using SBI, Axis Bank, or Kotak Bank credit cards.

The smartphone will go on sale in India starting August 12 via Amazon and the Xiaomi India online store. It is available in Arctic Blue, Dark Night, and Starlight Purple colour options.

Redmi Note 17 5G Specifications

The Redmi Note 17 5G features a 6.9-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, 1,800 nits peak brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate, 960Hz PWM dimming, Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and HydroTouch 2.0 support for improved touch response with wet fingers.

It is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor built on a 4nm process, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Storage can be expanded by up to 2TB using a microSD card.

The handset runs HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, and Xiaomi promises four years of Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. For thermal management, the smartphone uses a vapour chamber cooling system with a 10,416 sq mm graphite heat dissipation area. It also carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Redmi Note 17 5G sports a 50MP primary rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and up to 2x digital zoom, accompanied by a secondary camera. On the front, it houses an 8MP selfie camera capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.

A key highlight is the 8,000mAh battery, which supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. According to Xiaomi, the battery can deliver up to 2.5 days of usage on a single charge. The Redmi Note 17 5G measures 169.7 x 79.14 x 8.4 mm and weighs 225g.
