Redmi Note 17 Launch Date in India Revealed: And Here's When It Will Go on Sale in the Country

The Redmi Note 17 could soon make its way to the Indian market after debuting in China last week. While Xiaomi has not officially confirmed the launch, a fresh leak suggests the smartphone will arrive in India on August 6, bringing a larger battery than its Chinese counterpart along with a handful of hardware changes.

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, the Redmi Note 17 is expected to go on sale starting August 11. The reported timeline also aligns with earlier rumours that hinted at an early August India debut.

Redmi Note 17 India Variant: Expected Specifications

The biggest highlight of the Indian variant could be its 8,000mAh battery, which would be a notable upgrade over the 7,700mAh battery found in the Chinese model. If the leak proves accurate, the Redmi Note 17 could become one of the largest battery smartphones in its segment.

The handset is also tipped to feature an OLED display, although details regarding the screen size and refresh rate remain under wraps.

For photography, the Redmi Note 17 is expected to sport a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 400 primary camera, which is said to deliver improved low-light performance over its predecessor. On the front, the device may feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera for photos and video calls.

For reference, the Redmi Note 17 launched in China with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display offering 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 3,200 nits peak brightness.

Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.

The Chinese model features a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary camera with OIS, accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It runs Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box and supports 45W wired fast charging.
