Redmi Note 7 Pro Catches Fire - Is Xiaomi Compromising With Quality Of Its Smartphones?
Recently, an incident was reported about the Redmi Note 7S catching fire in India. Now another case has been reported from China and this time it's the Redmi Note 7 Pro in question. According to the report Song Yujie, who is a resident of Zhoukou, filed a complaint that the Redmi Note 7 Pro which he has purchased for his father three months ago burst into flames. According to the report, the smartphone was purchased on July 24 from the company's Mall in China.
As per the report, Yujie's father was using the smartphone for watching videos. He fell asleep while watching the video, he was woken up by the foul smell of burning. When he woke up he saw his smartphone in flames, however, there is no major loss in the scenario only some burns to the quilt and a minor burn to Song's father who was trying to stop the flames.
Song has also shared the pictures of the burned smartphone. The report also suggests that the Xiaomi after-sales customer service has explained to the reporters that the reason cause behind the fire was "non-mobile phone quality problem".
The company personnel are saying that the Redmi Note 7 Pro catches fires because of some other reason and it has nothing to do with the quality. However, the smartphone comes with an 18-month warranty still the company is not considering to replace the smartphone.
Recently in India, a Redmi Note 7S user also experienced the same issue with its one-month-old. His smartphone went up in flames while it was kept on his office desk. In this case, also the company's response was the same. This is not the first time when a Xiaomi user is facing such an issue. Witnessing such incidences there is a lot of question raising, and this is also a serious concern about the safety of the consumers.
It seems that the company is compromising with the quality of the smartphone to cut down the price.
