Redmi Turbo 5 India Launch Date Tipped; Redmi 17 Could Launch Alongside
Xiaomi looks ready to bring the Redmi Turbo series to India for the first time, and the launch may happen sooner than expected.
According to a new leak by Smartprix, in collaboration with tipster Yogesh Brar, the Redmi Turbo 5 could launch in India on June 18 alongside the rumored Redmi 17 5G. While Xiaomi hasn’t officially confirmed the date yet, the company has already started teasing the Turbo 5 online, so the timing doesn’t feel too surprising anymore.

Microsites for the phone are already live on Amazon India and Xiaomi’s official website, confirming that the device will be sold online once it launches.
Redmi Turbo 5 Specs
If the Indian model ends up matching the Chinese version closely, the Redmi Turbo 5 could end up being one of Xiaomi’s more performance-focused mid-range phones this year.
The Chinese variant launched earlier with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits.
Under the hood, the phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset with up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
The camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX882 main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 20MP selfie camera on the front.
One thing that stands out is the durability rating. The Turbo 5 reportedly carries IP66, IP68, IP69, and even IP69K certification, which is honestly rare in this category.
Redmi 17 5G Could Launch Alongside It
The Redmi 17 5G is also expected to debut during the same event.
Leaks suggest the phone could feature a high refresh rate LCD display, a Snapdragon 4 series chipset, and a battery larger than 7,000mAh. It’s also tipped to run HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
From the early details, it looks like Xiaomi may be targeting two different types of users here. The Turbo 5 appears more performance-oriented, while the Redmi 17 5G could focus heavily on battery life and affordability.
