Reliance JioPhone 5G Leaks in Pictures, Specs Revealed

At the RIL AGM 2022, Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani had announced that Jio is going to launch an affordable 5G smartphone in collaboration with Google. By the looks of it, the smartphone is almost ready and is undergoing various tests before launch.

The smartphone is expected to catalyze the adoption of 5G networks in India, which the country's largest telecom provider has been rolling out to every city, town and village across the country, and is expected to complete the rollout by December 2023.

JioPhone 5G Leaked: Specifications and Features

The JioPhone 5G, which is likely what it is going to be called, going by the previous 4G offerings, is going to be an affordable 5G smartphone, far cheaper than most of the 5G smartphones available today. The high cost of 5G smartphones has hindered the adoption among consumers, and that is what Jio will look to solve.

To keep the costs low, the JioPhone 5G is likely to come with budget specifications, cutting corners here and there. The tipster claimed that Jio will possibly use a UniSoC 5G processor or a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. Both are 5G chipsets, which should be capable of supporting Jio's standalone 5G network.

The tipster further claimed that the smartphone will come with a dual-camera setup, with a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary camera. It is also expected to come with a 5MP front camera, as per the leak.

The leak, most importantly, reveals the smartphone will look like an average 4G smartphone with a plastic rear panel and a display with a U-shaped notch, much like the budget Samsung phones we have been seeing these days.

The leak also shows the device is currently under testing, achieving a download speed of 470 Mbps and an upload speed of 34.25 Mbps, in line with what most Jio users have been getting on its True5G network.
