JioPhone to feature 2MP rear camera and 4GB storage space

JioPhone specs are out before pre-booking.

    The JioPhone was launched in July at the company's 40th Annual General Meeting. Though some of the features and capabilities of the JioPhone were announced at the event, the technical specifications were vague.

    With two days left for the pre-bookings of the JioPhone to commence, a Digit report has revealed the JioPhone retailer brochure distributed by the company. The brochure sheds light on some of the unknown features and specifications of the device.

    According to the leaked document, the JioPhone will feature 4GB of default memory capacity that can be expanded further up to 128GB using a microSD card. The smartphone will feature a 2MP rear camera and a VGA selfie camera as well for video calling.

    The users of the JioPhone can press the 0 key on the keypad of the phone to access the web. With the access to the web, it is possible to watch YouTube videos, watch out for weather forecast, access Facebook and more.

    The leaked brochure also details that the JioCinema app will allow unlimited video streaming from a library of over 6000 movies. There will be over 6000 music videos, over 1 lakh hours of advertisement, and free HD content in 10 languages. The JioMusic app will let users listen to music from over 1 crore HD songs in over 20 languages.

    At the time of its announcement, it was stated that the JioPhone will support 22 regional languages. Now, it is claimed that it is possible for users to personalize their handset with their own language choice. The supported languages include Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Bodo, Dogri, Gujarati, Kannada, Kashmiri, Sanskrit, Urdu, Malayalam, Manipuri, Nepali, Marathi, Santhali, Maithili, Sindhi and Konkani.

    With the support for GPS, the JioPhone users can access Google Maps for navigational purposes. There is a Jio Assistant that is similar to Google Assistant. This will let users give the command and the assistant will carry out the task for them.
