Report: Samsung Set To Mass-Produce 2nm Exynos 2600 Chipset For Galaxy S26 Series In 2026
Samsung is set to start mass-producing its flagship smartphone processors using a 2nm technology by next year's second half. The processor, named SF2, will showcase in the Exynos 2600 application processor (AP).
Samsung's Chipset Ambitions
A report from ET News has unveiled Samsung's plan for a chipset codenamed 'Thetis,' after the Greek mythology sea goddess, hinting at a new era for processors. The SoC, expected to be in mass production by 2025, is designed for the Galaxy S26 series. It could be known as the Exynos 2600, setting the stage for a rivalry with Apple’s next-gen A-series, M-series, and AI chips, all targeting the 2nm production milestone.

Global vs. Regional Rollout
The upcoming Galaxy S26 and S26+ models are likely to be powered by the Exynos 2600 globally, except in the U.S., China, and Canada. These regions will see devices equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, however, will feature the Snapdragon chipset across all markets.
Samsung's In-House GPU
Rumors are circulating that the Exynos 2600 will mark the debut of Samsung's in-house GPU, a shift from AMD's GPU used in previous models such as the Exynos 2400. This change suggests a significant step in Samsung's processor design strategy.
The Race for 2nm: Samsung vs. Apple
While Apple is expected to introduce its 2nm chipset with the iPhone 17 series by September 2025, Samsung plans to launch the Exynos 2600 SoC in early 2026 alongside the Galaxy S26 series.
