Samsung Galaxy A06 India Launch Likely Soon; Spotted on BIS Certification

Samsung is expected to launch a new A-series smartphone dubbed the Galaxy A06 soon in India. The smartphone was spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, hitting an imminent India launch. Here's what to expect from the upcoming Galaxy A06.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 with model number SM-A065F/DS was spotted (via MySmartPrice) on the BIS listing, which reveals the phone will come with dual SIM card support. Apart from this, the BIS certification listing hasn't revealed any other details.

However, the phone was also spotted on the Geekbench database and Wi-Fi Alliance certification. The latter revealed that the Galaxy A02 would come with 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, while the phone managed to score 1,644 points and 5,326 points in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench, respectively.

Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy A06 is tipped to be powered by an octa-core SoC paired with a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU and 6GB of RAM. Other details like display, camera, and battery capacity are still under wraps. We expect to get more details in the coming days.

The Samsung Galaxy A06 will succeed last year's Galaxy A05, which comes with a 6.7-inch HD+ (720x1,600 pixels) LCD display. The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, paired with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of onboard storage which also supports an additional storage expansion using a microSD card slot.

For imaging, there is a dual rear camera setup including a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary camera. Upfront, it opts for an 8MP camera for selfies. The phone also packs a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 25W fast charging. Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a USB Type-C port. The price of the Galaxy A05 now starts at Rs 8,699 for the base 4GB/64GB model.
