Samsung Galaxy A16 5G Could Be the Cheapest Phone With 6 Years of Software Support
Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy A16 5G soon in global markets including India, which is likely to be the successor to the Galaxy A15 5G. While the brand has not revealed any details regarding the launch and specifications, rumours and leaks have given us enough idea of what to expect from the upcoming Galaxy A16.
Now, the design, specs, and launch timeline of the Galaxy A16 have been leaked online. Check all the details here.

Samsung Galaxy A16: What to Expect?
The recent information comes to light via The Tech Outlook, which reveals the upcoming Galaxy A16 will feature three camera sensors along with an LED flash placed vertically, similar to the Galaxy A15. The rear panel will likely have a premium glass design with shine and a mirror-like effect.
On the front, the upcoming Galaxy A16 5G will sport a waterdrop notch and the volume and power buttons will be on the right side. It is also expected to arrive in Light green, Blue Black, and gold colour options.
In terms of features, the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G is likely to get a 6.7-inch SA Infinity U display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The global variant of the phone could feature the in-house Exynos 1330, while the Indian variant might run the MediaTek Dimensity 6300, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of native storage.
The highlight will be its software update policy as the Galaxy A16 is expected to ship with six long years of OS updates and security updates. With this, the smartphone will launch with OneUI 6 based on Android 14 and receive updates upto OneUI 12 or Android 20.
If this turns out to be true, the Galaxy A16 5G will be the first affordable phone eligible for six years of software updates. Even brands like OnePlus and Vivo's flagships come with only 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates.
Moreover, the smartphone will have an IP54 rating and will measure 7.9 in dimension. As far as the launch is concerned, the Galaxy A16 5G is expected to arrive by the end of this month. However, Samsung is yet to confirm the same.
