Samsung Galaxy A24 Confirmed: 6.5-Inch S-AMOLED Screen, SD680 Tipped For The Budget Android Smartphone

Samsung seems to be expanding its midrange and budget Android segment. The company launched the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G and Samsung Galaxy A54 5G smartphones in the Indian market this week.

The Samsung Galaxy F14 5G will arrive later this month. But that's not all. Samsung also plans to launch the Samsung Galaxy A24, a budget Android smartphone. Unlike the remaining smartphones in the Galaxy A series, the Samsung Galaxy A24 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.

Samsung Galaxy A24 Launch Confirmed, But Will It Arrive In India?

Samsung has confirmed the launch of the Galaxy A24. The Android smartphone was previously spotted on multiple certification websites globally, except for India.

Samsung Turkey issued a press release boasting the successful launch and warm reception of the Galaxy A14 5G and Galaxy A23 5G. The statement mentioned that the next device of the A-series to launch would be the Galaxy A24.

The Samsung Galaxy A24 will be available in the Turkish markets in the coming months. Samsung hasn't indicated if the smartphone will launch in other markets, including India.

As the name implies, the Samsung Galaxy A24 is lesser than the other Galaxy A series smartphones launched recently. Hence, its presence or absence in the Indian market won't make much difference due to it's modest hardware.

Samsung Galaxy A24 Specifications, Features

The Samsung Galaxy A24 features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

A Snapdragon 680 chipset will reportedly power the Samsung Galaxy A24. The budget SoC will be paired with 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. As the chipset lacks a 5G modem, the Galaxy A24 will be limited to 4G networks.

There might be another with 6GB of RAM, but the internal storage would remain 128GB. Buyers can increase the onboard storage with a microSD card of up to 1TB capacity.

The Samsung Galaxy A24 is tipped to feature a triple camera unit on the back comprising a 50MP primary camera with OIS and an f/1.8 aperture, a 5MP wide-angle shooter with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The smartphone is rumored to have a 13MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture on the front for selfies, video calls, and face unlock.

Samsung has reportedly embedded a 5000mAh battery inside the Galaxy A24, which would support 25w wired fast charging. The smartphone will likely run Android 13 with OneUI 5.0 custom skin. Samsung has indicated that the A series smartphones will receive two major Android OS updates and four years of security updates.
