Samsung Galaxy A25 Is First Smartphone With Android 14 OS To Surface On Geekbench

Samsung is readying a new Galaxy A series smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy A25 appears to be packing budget hardware, but it is the first smartphone discovered running Android 14 on a publicly accessible platform.

After its renders leaked earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy A25 has now once again surfaced online, this time on Geekbench. The listing reveals key specifications of what could be a 5G-enabled midrange Android smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy A25 Geekbench Listing Reveals Chipset, RAM, Android OS, And Other Details

As the name suggests, the Samsung Galaxy A25 belongs to the Galaxy A series, which includes budget and midrange Android smartphones. The Geekbench listing of the A25 indicates Samsung has stayed true to this design philosophy for this device.

The Geekbench listing is for a Samsung smartphone bearing model number SM-A256B, which is believed to be the Galaxy A25. It indicates the smartphone is powered by an octa-core chipset with two performance cores clocked at 2.40 GHz, while the remaining six Efficiency cores are clocked at 2.00 GHz.

All these CPUs are based on the ARMv8 Architecture and the motherboard is named "s5e8825". These specifications indicate Samsung has embedded its in-house Exynos 1280 SoC inside the Samsung Galaxy A25 smartphone. The CPU cores inside this chipset aren't clocked very high and neither does the chipset have any Prime Performance core.

The listing also confirms the Samsung Galaxy A25 is packing 7.06 GB or 8 GB RAM. This smartphone managed to score just 969 points in single-core tests and 2075 points in multi-core tests.

The most interesting aspect about the Geekbench listing, and by extension the Samsung smartphone, is that it is running Android 14. It is possible that Samsung could launch the Samsung Galaxy A25 running Android 14 with the One UI 6.0 custom layer.

Samsung Galaxy A25 Rumored Specifications

The presence of the Exynos 1280 SoC inside the Samsung Galaxy A25 strongly suggests the smartphone will be able to latch on to 5G networks. It should pack 8GB RAM, and presumably ship with 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

Samsung has started offering 4 major Android OS updates and 5 years of Security updates even for mid-range phones. Hence, the A25 could get Android 18 way in the future.

Previous leaks about the Samsung Galaxy A25 have indicated the smartphone will feature a 6.44-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with a 90Hz refresh rate. It could feature a triple rear camera, headlined by a 50MP primary camera. It may be accompanied by a 5MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera, similar to its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy A24.

There should be a 5000mAh battery onboard the Samsung Galaxy A25, presumably with support for 25W wired fast charging. This smartphone could launch in the fourth quarter of the current year.
