Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) to arrive in Snapdragon and Exynos variants
Galaxy A5 (2018) details hit the web.
Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) was launched only in the Exynos variant while the previous iterations were available in both Exynos and Snapdragon variants. Now, it looks like the company is planning to launch the Galaxy A5 (2018) in two chipset editions.
The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking website with the model number SM-A520F. In the last month, we saw the Samsung SM-A530F hit the Geekbench website and the same was speculated to be the upcoming Galaxy A5 smartphone. The Geekbench listing shows that the smartphone will be powered by the company's Exynos 7885 SoC. It scored 1541 and 4351 points in both the single-core and multi-core tests on the benchmarking website.
We even saw another benchmark listing with the model number SM-A5300 in September. This one seemed to be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC paired with 4GB RAM and Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. Apparently, this is said to be one of the variants of the Galaxy A5 (2018). This variant scored 1593 and 5834 points in the single-core and multi-core tests. From both the listings, we can make out that the Snapdragon variant is more powerful than the Exynos variant of the smartphone.
There is a widespread speculation that the Snapdragon variant could be meant for the Chinese market and the Exynos variant could be launched in the international markets. There are speculations that the Galaxy A7 (2018) might arrive in both the Exynos and Snapdragon variants.
The 2017 models of the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 are identical in terms of design. And, going by the recent reports that the Galaxy A (2018) smartphones will feature a full-screen design as in the Galaxy S8, we can expect these smartphones to have an Infinity Display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. These smartphones might feature a glass back, a dedicated Bixby button and a rear-facing fingerprint sensor.
