Samsung Galaxy A54 and A34 Debut With 120Hz Screens and OneUI 5.1

Today, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34, Samsung's two affordable mid-range smartphones that will be available in India on March 16 this year.

Both phones succeed the Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A33 from last year, and feature bright and fast 120Hz displays, plenty of RAM, and improved cameras.

Samsung Galaxy A54: Specifications

The Galaxy A54 sports a 6.5-inch, 120Hz, FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a Vision Booster feature and 1200 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood is Samsung's latest Exynos 1380 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The device also has support for a microSD card, effectively bumping the storage to 1TB.

Coming to the optics, the Galaxy A54 packs a triple-camera setup, with a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera with AF and OIS, a 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera. At the front is a 32MP selfie shooter in a hole punch cutout at the center.

The device comes with Android 13 out of the box with OneUI 5.1. Running the show is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 5G and Wi-Fi 6.

Lastly, the device has a glass back with an IP67 rating and comes in four colors: Awesome Lime, Awesome Graphite, Awesome Violet, and Awesome White.

The Galaxy A34 sports a 6.6-inch, 120Hz, FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a Vision Booster feature and 1200 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood is a MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. There is also support for a microSD card, effectively bumping the storage to 1TB.

Coming to the optics, the Galaxy A34 packs a triple-camera setup with a 48MP f/1.8 primary camera with AF and OIS, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera. The front of the phone houses a 13MP selfie shooter in a waterdrop-style notch.

The device comes with Android 13 out of the box with OneUI 5.1 on top. Running the show is a 5,000mAh battery, with support for 25W wired charging. In terms of connectivity, the phone supports 5G and Wi-Fi 5.

Lastly, the device has a "glasstic" back with an IP67 rating and comes in four colors: Awesome Lime, Awesome Graphite, Awesome Violet, and Awesome Silver.

Samsung Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34: Price and Availability

Globally, the Samsung Galaxy A54 will come at a starting price of £449 (~Rs.45,000), while the Samsung Galaxy A34 will cost upwards of £349 (~Rs.35,000).

Samsung confirmed that both phones would release in March, starting with select markets in Europe and Southeast Asia.

In India, Samsung will launch the handsets on March 16 this year.
