Samsung has been consistently rolling out the Android Pie update to its older releases. A bunch of Samsung smartphones has recently received the Android Pie flavor. Some of them include Galaxy A8+ (2018), Galaxy A7 (2018) and Galaxy A9 (2018). The company has also updated some of its old premium smartphones to the Android Pie OS. Now, another Galaxy A smartphone from last year is receiving a stable Android Pie update.

Samsung Galaxy A6+ Android Pie update released with security patch

The latest Samsung smartphone to board the Android Pie bandwagon is the Galaxy A6+. Samsung had launched the Galaxy A6+ smartphone last year in May and it ships with Android 8.0 Oreo. The mid-range smartphone is now receiving the Android Pie update as promised.

The Android Pie update for the Samsung Galaxy A6+ is currently being rolled out to the users in Poland. The update is yet to be released for the remaining markets around the globe. The company has released the Android Pie update as an OTA (over-the-air) and the notification should be available for the same. The update weighs a total of 1.2GB in size and it carries a firmware build number A605FNXXU3BSC6. The update can also be checked manually in the Settings section under Software updates tab.

The update also carries along the latest Android security patch along with it, i.e March 2019 security patch. In addition to the Android security patch, the update will bring the usual Android Pie elements such as Adaptive Battery, Adaptive Brightness and gesture-based navigation etc.

Just to recap, the Samsung Galaxy A6+ makes use of an entry-segment Snapdragon 450 processor which is clubbed with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM. The device comes with an internal storage option of 64GB which can be extended via external microSD card to up to 256GB. The smartphone features a 6-inch Super AMOLED display panel with a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels. For imaging, the device comes with a dual rear camera setup comprising of a 16MP primary camera and a 5MP depth sensor. At the front, the smartphone packs a 24MP selfie shooter with f/1.9 aperture. There is a 3,500mAh battery unit under the hood with no fast charging support.
