Samsung Galaxy A7 2019 to arrive with a dual curved screen
Samsung appear to be focused on improving the mid-range smartphones with advanced features seen only on flagship models.
Samsung has been bringing about improvements to the mid-range Galaxy A series smartphones with every new addition to the lineup. Late last year, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) with Infinity Display featuring 18.5:9 aspect ratio, dual-cameras, IP68 certification for dust and water resistance and USB Type-C. Until then, these aspects were reserved only for the flagship models.
Following the improvements rolled out to the Galaxy A8 (2018) duo in December last year, the company appears to be focused on bringing dual curved screens to the Galaxy A series smartphones of 2019. As per a recent report by a Korean publication The Bell via TheAndroidSoul, Samsung is all set to bring the Edge display to the Galaxy S series smartphones and the first one to sport the same could be the Galaxy A7 2019.
While the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) smartphones were unveiled, these models were said to be successors to the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 smartphones. Eventually, it is strange to see the Galaxy A7 moniker surface once again. However, it is not surprising to see the edge-to-edge design language being pushed to the mid-range smartphones as Samsung is focusing on the segment in order to outshine the Chinese manufacturers and regain the lost market share.
The report further adds that the alleged Samsung Galaxy A7 2019 would flaunt a 5.78-inch curved OLED display but the screen resolution remains unknown for now. It states that the curved display panel is already under development and that the production of the same would begin in the last quarter of this year so that it is complete for a January 2019 announcement of the smartphone.
Though the Galaxy A7 2019 would belong to the mid-range smartphone category, the device is not expected to carry a cheap price tag. It makes sense as the production cost of the edge-to-edge panel is quite expensive than the rigid panel traditionally used on smartphones.
Having said that, we need to wait for more reports regarding the Galaxy A7 2019 to know more about its specifications and features. Also, an official information from the company would add more authenticity to these claims.
