Samsung announces a price cut on Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017).
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) were launched in India in March at Rs. 33,490 and Rs. 28,990 respectively. Now, these smartphones seem to have received a permanent price cut in the country.
According to the price revision announced today by Samsung, the Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) will be available at Rs. 25,900 and Rs. 22,900 from now on. Previously, these phones got a price cut taking them to Rs. 30,900 and Rs. 26,900 respectively. It has been announced that the price cut on these two smartphones come right during the festive season in India.
The Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) have a similar design as the yesteryear flagship model - Galaxy S7. These smartphones have cameras optimized for low-light photography, IP68 rating that makes them dust and water resistant and a simplified camera UX. Notably, these are the first mid-ranger smartphones to get the water and dust resistant certification.
In terms of specifications, both the Galaxy A7 (2017) and Galaxy A5 (2017) are similar except for a few differences such as screen size and battery capacity. While the Galaxy A5 (2017) features a 5.2-inch FHD 1080p Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy A7 (2017) features a larger 5.7-inch FHD 1080p Super AMOLED display. Also, the battery capacities are 3000mAh and 3600mAh in the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 respectively.
Otherwise, both the smartphones make use of an octa-core 1.9GHz Exynos 7880 processor paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage capacity that can be further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card. The imaging aspects include a 16MP main camera at the rear with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash and a 16MP selfie camera with a similar aperture. The other aspects of the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) include a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button at the front, a USB Type-C port, Always On Display, a 3.5mm audio jack and features such as Samsung Pay, Secure Folder
and Samsung Cloud.
