There were more than a dozen of 5G smartphones launched in 2019. However, most of these smartphones were premium costing more than flagship smartphones. This might change in 2020 as more and more brands are announcing mid-tier 5G phones and Samsung might also be working on one.

Samsung Galaxy A71 5G Tipped For 2020 Launch

According to the latest report, Samsung is working on a mid-tier 5G smartphone dubbed Galaxy A71 with the model number SM-A716B. Unlike previous 5G phones from Samsung, the Galaxy A71will be based on the Exynos 980 SoC.

Along with the 5G network support, the Galaxy A71 will also feature Wi-Fi 6 for improved download and upload speed. Besides, the phone will also have backwords compatibility with 4G, 3G, and 2G networks.

What More To Expect From The Galaxy A71

Like most of the mid-tier Samsung phones, the Galaxy A71 is likely to feature an AMOLED display with at least FHD+ resolution. Plus, the company might throw in an in-display fingerprint sensor as well.

The Exynos 980 SoC will be paired with at least 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. And the phone is likely to run on One UI 2.0 on top of Android 10 OS, considering the launch date to be around early 2020.

Rumors also suggest that the phone is likely to have a triple camera setup with a 108MP primary camera similar to the Xiaomi Mi Note 10. Being a 5G phone, the company might also throw-in a bigger battery with support for fast charging via the USB Type-C port.

Expected Pricing

The Samsung Galaxy A71, as suggested by the leak, could be a mid-tier smartphone and might be priced around $500, restricted to select markets. The year 2020 is likely to be filled with affordable 5G smartphones from different brands.
