Alleged Samsung Galaxy J4 spotted on Geekbench database
Besides the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, Samsung seems to be busy in prepping budget smartphones too.
Next week, Samsung is all set to unveil the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ flagship smartphones at the MWC 2018 tech show on February 25 in Barcelona. In the meantime, it looks like Samsung is also busy in prepping the other lineups of smartphones as well for this year. We say so as a budget smartphone likely to arrive with entry-level has hit the rumor mills, thanks to the leaked benchmark details that has revealed some aspects.
Lately, we saw the Galaxy J4 listed as one of the smartphones that support the Android 8.0 Oreo beta build with the name j4lte. Now, a device carrying the model number SM-J400F has been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking database and is speculated to be the Samsung Galaxy J4 that is yet to be announced.
The Geekbench listing shows that the smartphone with the model number SM-J400F runs Android 8.0 Oreo. It appears to make use of the Exynos 7570 SoC with a 1.4GHz quad-core Cortex A53 processor. This processor is paired with 2GB RAM and comes with support for HD 720p screen resolution. Notably, this chipset is the same one that is used by the budget smartphones such as the Galaxy Xcover 4 and Galaxy J3 (2017).
Talking about the Geekbench benchmarking test, the Samsung Galaxy J4 has managed to score 623 points in the single-core test and 1815 points in the multi-core test. These scores suggest that the upcoming Galaxy J4 will be an entry-level smartphone that will come up with a better spec sheet than the Galaxy J3 (2017).
Given that the upcoming Samsung smartphone will boot on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, the device is expected to run the Samsung Experience UI as well. For now, there is no information on the other aspects of this smartphone.
We know that it will be an entry-level smartphone with Android Oreo out of the box. We have already seen that the J series smartphones are affordable ones from the company so we will have a rough idea of the low-end specifications of the Galaxy J4 and that it will carry a low price tag.
