Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) receives Android 7.0 Nougat update
Galaxy J7 gets the Nougat flavor.
Lately, we saw that the Samsung Galaxy J7 (2015) has been spotted running the Android 7.0 Nougat update but the official roll out of the same is yet to happen.
Now, the yesteryear model, the Galaxy J7 (2016) has started receiving the Android 7.0 Nougat update. According to a GalaxyClub report via SamMobile, the Nougat update will be pushed to all the global Galaxy J7 units launched last year within two months. Recently, even the Galaxy S5 Neo started receiving the Nougat update.

The roll out of the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Galaxy J7 (2016) doesn't come as a big surprise as the original variant is also expected to receive the same in the coming months. Though the roll out will happen on a global scale, only the Russian models are eligible for the update as yet. As it is a standard procedure that Samsung follows for the roll out of Android updates, we can expect other countries to get the update in the near future.
Notably, the Android 7.0 Nougat update carries the build number J710FXXU3BQHA and also includes the Android security patch apart from the usual features and improvements that the Nougat update will bring. The report tips that the Nougat update weighs in at 970MB, which is huge enough to download using your cellular data as it might require you to pay a hefty mobile bill.
Samsung Galaxy J7+ with dual rear cameras leak; launch could be imminent
An interesting news for the Galaxy J7 (2016) users is that the device is eligible to receive the Android 8.0 Oreo update that was released in the last year. However, there is no confirmation regarding when the same will be rolled out to the users.
