Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018) passes through FCC
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018)’s launch could be nearing.
The Galaxy J series is the most affordable lineup of smartphones from Samsung with both entry-level and mid-range models. Having said that, the company appears to be focused on bringing more new models in the lineup and these will be the 2018 variants of the existing models. From the existing reports, we can expect Samsung to unveil the Galaxy J3 (2018), Galaxy J7 (2018), Galaxy J8 and Galaxy J8+.
Last week, we came across a leaked Geekbench listing of the Galaxy J7 (2018) revealing some of the key specifications. Now, the Galaxy J7 (2018) appears to have cleared the FCC certification in the US. The FCC listing shows a smartphone carrying the model number SM-J720F, claims a report by Mobilescout.
Dimensions are out
The FCC listing of the upcoming Samsung smartphone has not revealed any information about the specifications. However, the certification database has shed light on the dimensions of the smartphone. Going by the same, the Galaxy J7 (2018) would have a width of 153mm and a height of 76mm. This gives us a hint that the smartphone could be a little bigger than the Galaxy J7 (2017). Also, there is a possibility for the device to feature a bigger 5.6-inch display.
Support for Bluetooth 5.0
Going by the FCC listing, the alleged Galaxy J7 (2018) might be announced with connectivity aspects such as Bluetooth 5.0, FDD Band 5, Band 7, Band 38 and Band 41. Other details remain unknown as yet.
What to expect?
Though the camera specifications, alleged launch date and possible pricing of the smartphone are yet to be revealed, the leaked Geekbench listing of the Galaxy J7 (2018) shows that the smartphone could be launched with an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7885 SoC clocked at 2.2Hz teamed up with 2GB RAM.
Given that the model number SM-J737P seen on the benchmark listing is different from that of the FCC certification, we can expect the company to launch several variants of the Galaxy J7 (2018) based on the region. Also, from the specifications spotted on the benchmark database, we can infer that it could be an affordable variant of the Galaxy J7 (2017).
