Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018) stops by Geekbench

We have already come across speculations about several Galaxy J series smartphones for quite some time. The rumors include the Galaxy J8, Galaxy J3, and a few other devices meant to be released later this year. It looks the company is focusing on improving its market share in the mid-range segment with the upcoming Galaxy J series smartphones, which is a segment dominated by the Chinese brands.
The latest one to hit the rumor mills is the Galaxy J7 (2018). The device has stopped by the Geekbench benchmarking platform revealing some of the key specifications we can expect from it. Given that the previous Galaxy J7 smartphones were announced sometime in the second quarter of the year, we can expect this one to also be unveiled by June this year. So, let's take a look at what Samsung has to bring with this smartphone from here.
Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box
From the benchmark listing, it is likely that the Galaxy J7 (2018) will arrive with the model number SM-J737P. The smartphone appears to run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. The listing also makes it clear that the device will be unveiled with the moniker Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018).
Same chipset as Galaxy A8 (2018)
The Geekbench database hints that the alleged Galaxy J7 (2018) will make use of the same Exynos 7885 chipset, which was used by the Galaxy A8 (2018) unveiled in December last year. This chipset will comprise of two ARM Cortex A73 cores clocked up to 2.2GHz. Also, it will use six 1.6GHz Cortex A53 cores. The processor is new and only the Galaxy A8 (2018) lineup uses the same. This processor seems to be paired with 2GB RAM as well.
Benchmark scores
When it comes to the performance front, the alleged Samsung Galaxy J7 (2018) smartphone appears to have scored almost 2000 points in the single-core test and 3800 points in the multi-core test. The other details about this smartphone are not know for now and we can expect to come across further information in the coming weeks.
