Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo launched in India at Rs. 16,990: Specs and features

Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo is the first J series smartphone to flaunt dual cameras.

    Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo is the latest addition to the company's J series. Priced at Rs. 16,990, the smartphone will be available for purchase across retail stores starting April 12th, 2018. There are two color variants of the smartphone; Black and Gold. Notably, the Galaxy J7 Duo is the first smartphone in the J series to sport dual cameras.

    The smartphone is equipped with a dual rear setup that comprises of a 13MP main sensor and a 5MP secondary sensor. At the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera. Both cameras come with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, making the Samsung Galaxy J7 Duo a decent smartphone for low-light photography.

    The smartphone's rear cameras also come with Live Focus and Background Blur Shape functions. With Live Focus, users can take portrait shots with blurred background. The Dual camera lets users adjust the background blur while taking a picture or even after taking the shot. Moreover, with Background Blur Shape, users can add soft light effect to their pictures in different shapes.

    The front camera of the Galaxy J7 Duo also comes with advanced modes - the Selfie Focus mode blurs the background, while the Beauty Mode enhances your selfie for a perfect shot. Additionally, the smartphone boasts of Face Unlock feature.

    Talking about other aspects, the Samsung phone is fitted with a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display. Under the hood, it is powered by an Exynos 7 series processor, clubbed with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage space. The storage space is further expandable up to 256GB using the microSD card onboard.

    The Galaxy J7 Duo runs on Android Oreo OS right out of the box. It also comes with App Pair feature that lets users work on two apps simultaneously. The smartphone is backed by a standard 3,000mAh battery.


    The device offers connectivity options like USB 2.0, Bluetooth v4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2.4G+5GHz, and VHT80. Sensors onboard include an accelerometer, a fingerprint Sensor, a RGB light sensor, and a proximity sensor.
