The Android 8.0 Oreo has gone official and a few smartphones makers have started testing the update. Now, the Galaxy J7 Prime has got the Android Nougat update in India after a long wait.

The Nougat update to the Galaxy J7 Prime weighs in around 1GB and is being rolled out as an OTA update. The update carries the version numbers G610FDDU1BQH9, G610FODD1BQH9, and G610FDDU1BQH5 based on the variant of the smartphone. Before downloading this update, make sure the device is connected to Wi-Fi as 1GB is definitely too much of data. Also, the handset should have over 50% of charge. In addition to these, it is important to backup your data before the installation.

As it is an OTA update, you will receive a notification as and when the update hits your device. If not, you can check for the same manually by going to Settings → About Device → System Updates and Check for Updates.

The Android Nougat update will bring a slew of features to the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime. It will bring quick app switching by double tapping on the recent key to open the last used app, a revamped notification shade that will bundle similar notifications, split screen mode, clear recent apps buttons, easier navigation settings, a new row of quick settings, and more.
