Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro starts receiving October security update
Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro October security update brings fixes for almost 215 vulnerabilities in the Android operating system.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro (SM-J730GM) owners can now download the October security update for their smartphones. The company has now started rolling out the update in Mexico and should be coming to other markets in the coming days. The handset is available in several markets like India, Singapore, Mexico, and Thailand.
That aside, the Telcel-branded Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro has started receiving the update and it comes with firmware version J730GMUBU2AQJ2. This is basically a minor update that brings the October security patch. The handset is already running Nougat.
As per the company, the latest security patch brings a fix for almost 215 vulnerabilities in the Android operating system. The update also brings fixes for six vulnerabilities in Samsung's own software. In any case, Samsung has also rolled out the October security patch for several devices like Galaxy A5 (2016 and 2017), Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S8+.
The latest firmware release with the Galaxy J7 Pro October security update is now available for download here. Samsung will likely roll it out in other markets as well in the near future.
If you own a J7 Pro then you should probably look out for the over-the-air update notification in the Notification panel. Security patches are always crucial as it helps keep your device safe and secure from cyber attacks.
If you have not received the notification then you can always go to Settings - About Phone - Software updates, and check manually for the update. If it is there then you can start downloading the latest update. The update should be of small size and will take less as compared to a full OS firmware update.
