Samsung Galaxy M16, Galaxy M06 Launch Date Confirmed: Here’s What to Expect!

Samsung is gearing up to introduce the Galaxy M16 and Galaxy M06 5G in India this week. Amazon India has hinted at the launch date for these new Galaxy M series phones. These models will succeed last year's Galaxy M15 and Galaxy M05. The Galaxy M16 is anticipated to feature triple rear cameras, while the Galaxy M06 5G might come with a dual rear camera setup.

Amazon has confirmed that the Galaxy M16 and Galaxy M06 5G will be launched in India on February 27 at 12 PM IST. A dedicated page on their website showcases a design sketch of the upcoming devices. The model with triple rear cameras is expected to be the Galaxy M16, whereas the one with dual cameras is likely the Galaxy M06 5G.

Both phones are designed with pill-shaped camera islands, where the camera units are vertically aligned. Additionally, a circular LED flash unit is positioned outside the camera module.

The Galaxy M16 recently appeared on Geekbench under model number SM-M166P, indicating it will run on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with 8GB RAM. It is expected to operate on Android 14-based One UI 6. This model also appeared on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) website as SM-M166P/DS.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy M06 5G was listed on BIS with model number SM-M066B/DS. Both models are anticipated to offer enhancements over their predecessors, the Galaxy M15 and Galaxy M05.

Previous Models and Pricing

The previous iteration, Galaxy M15 5G, was launched in India in April 2024 at Rs. 12,999 for its 4GB RAM + 128GB variant. The Galaxy M05 was introduced in September last year, priced at Rs. 7,999 for its sole configuration of 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.

Samsung's strategy appears focused on providing upgraded features in these new models compared to last year's offerings. This move aims to attract consumers seeking improved specifications within a similar price range.
