Samsung Galaxy Note 8 could be exclusive to Amazon India
The banner on Amazon India tips at the availability of the Galaxy Note 8.
Finally, the Galaxy Note 8 is official! While the announcement has put an end to the rumors and speculations those were making the rounds all over the internet, fresh information regarding the availability and pricing of the device has started emerging online.
Samsung has not announced the pricing of the Galaxy Note 8 at the event. We expect the same to be announced at the IFA 2017 show floor in Berlin in early September. The pre-order for the Galaxy Note 8 will debut in a few days in the U.S. market and the sale will debut starting from September 15. While the availability of the device in the other markets is yet to be confirmed by the South Korean tech giant, the Amazon India homepage reveals a juicy information.
Before the launch event, Amazon India showed a notification for the Galaxy Unpacked event asking users to sign up in order to get the alerts regarding the availability of the phone in the country. Even the Samsung India online store prompts users to sign up to get alerts on when the device will be up for pre-orders.
Talking about the banner listed on Amazon India, it looks like the Galaxy Note 8 will be exclusive to the online retailer. Notably, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were launched exclusively via Flipkart being company's online partner. Now, it remains unclear if the Galaxy Note 8 will also be sold via Flipkart once it is released. One thing that is sure that Amazon India will sell the device.
To refresh on the specifications, the Galaxy Note 8 bestows a 6.3-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display with 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Under its hood, there will be either an octa-core Snapdragon 835 Soc or an octa-core Exynos 8895 SoC paired with 6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB/256GB storage capacity. The device supports expandable storage support up to 256GB using a microSD card as the Galaxy Note 8 has a hybrid dual SIM slot.
On the imaging front, the Galaxy Note 8 arrives with a 12MP dual pixel primary rear camera with LED flash, wide-angle lens, OIS and f/1,7 aperture and a 12MP secondary camera with telephoto lens, OIS, f/2.4 aperture, 10x digital zoom and 2x optical zoom. Up front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with a wide-angle lens and f/1.7 aperture. The device has the IP68 rating that will make it resistant to water and dust. The other aspects include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, MST, USB Type-C port, a fingerprint sensor, an iris sensor, and a 3300mAh battery with support for fast charging and wireless charging.
