Samsung Galaxy Note 9 listed on Geekbench with Snapdragon 845, 6GB RAM

Since Samsung has already launched the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, all eyes are now on the company's next flagship, the successor of Galaxy Note 8. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is expected to arrive sometime in Q3. The phablet previously had appeared in leaks a couple of times, and it has now been spotted on Geekbench.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is listed on the benchmarking site with model number SM-N960U. According to Geekbench test, the device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor. Paired with the chipset is 6GB RAM, just like the newly launched Galaxy S9+. However, do note that in some markets the Galaxy Note 9 is likely to feature the Exynos 9810 processor.

The Geekbench listing further shows that the Galaxy Note 9 currently runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. As for the test results, the phablet has scored 8806 points in multi-core test and 2190 points in single-core test. Truth be told, the benchmarking scores are not really impressive.

Unfortunately, this is everything we have come to know about the Galaxy Note 9 from the Geekbench listing. Since the launch is not imminent, we expect many improvements will be added to phablet.

Earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 was spotted on HTML5 browser test. The website revealed that the device sports Samsung's popular infinity display with a screen resolution of 412×846 pixels. However, this benchmark usually contains a lesser number than the actual resolution of any given phone. We also came to know that the device's display will have the 18.5:9 aspect ratio.

Initially, it was widely speculated that the Galaxy Note 9 would come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. However, known research analyst at KGI Securities, Ming-Chi Kuo thinks that is not going to be the case.

Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ First Impressions

Though the in-display fingerprint sensors are not that advanced at the moment, Kuo believes that these sensors will be associated with issues such as incompatibility with screen protectors and power consumption. Due to these issues, he predicts that Samsung will not be implementing the in-display fingerprint scanning technology into the Galaxy Note 9.
