Samsung Galaxy Note 9 receives CMIIT nod
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 soon to be a reality.
Samsung is soon expected to launch its Galaxy Note 9 phablet. And now, the device has been certified by the China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT). The information is based on two model numbers associated with the listing - specifically, SM-N9500 and SM-N9508.
Both these model numbers are listed as mobile phones, with the first being approved on March 21, while the latter got approved on April 24. Also, both the handsets are likely the Chinese variants of the device. The listed frequency band also seem to indicate that the handset is intended for the Chinese market, although some international bands also appear to be supported. Lately, lot of speculations have been doing rounds surrounding the device.
Samsung has been long reported to be working on developing an in-screen fingerprint sensor. There were a lot of reports about the Galaxy S9 featuring the new technology, but unfortunately, the company had to drop the idea due to technical constraints. Now a new report from The Korean Herald, Samsung will bring the new technology with its upcoming flagship Galaxy Note 9.
The Korea Herald's sources say, "Samsung Display has prepared three or four solutions for Samsung Electronics to embed the fingerprint sensor inside of the main display, and both are seriously considering one of the solutions," meaning that Samsung is very close to finalizing a solution. They went on to say, "The delay in deciding on the final concept for the Note 9 is due to the work in adopting the in-display fingerprint sensor. A final decision on adoption of the technology will be made by this month."
The smartphone also recently made an appearance on the benchmarking website, Geekbench. There are also reports that the device might launch in June.
As far as the specifications are concerned, The Galaxy Note 9 is said to come with a 6.3-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with an almost bezel-less screen. Otherwise, the flagship device is said to use the same Exynos 9810 chipset or the Snapdragon 845 processor as the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ based on the region. The other goodies expected to be seen on the Galaxy Note 9 are 6GB RAM and 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of internal storage space.
