Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro now receiving Android Nougat update in India
The update caries a build number of G550FYXXU1CQL6 and it weighs in at around 1GB.
Usually, Samsung takes a long time to update its low and lower mid-range smartphones to the latest Android versions. While it has almost been six months since the launch of Android Oreo, some Samsung devices are yet to receive the Android Nougat update.
As reported by The Android Soul, Samsung has started pushing out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to its Galaxy On5 Pro smartphone. Indian users of the smartphone are eligible tor receive to update, notes the report. The update caries a build number of G550FYXXU1CQL6 and it weighs in at around 1GB. Since it is an OTA (over the air) update, it will take a while to reach all the Galaxy On5 Pro devices.
However, if you are one of those impatient kinds, you can also check for the update manually by going to the Settings >About Phone > Software Update. As the update is large in size, users are advised to make sure that their smartphone has sufficient battery life, above 50 percent. Also, users should download the update file via Wi-Fi network and backup all the data before installing the update.
As for what new features the update brings, apart from the latest openly available version of Android, the update also brings a slightly refreshed interface, a redesigned Multi Window multitasking feature that feels closer to what Google had in mind with the stock take on the functionality, enhanced Always On Display, quick setting toggles, Samsung Pass, and improved notifications.
Just to remind you, the Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro was launched in India back in 2016 along with the Galaxy On7 Pro. Talking about the specifications, the smartphone is fitted with a 5-inch HD 720p display. Under the hood, the device makes use of a quad-core Exynos 3475 processor paired with 2GB RAM. It offers 16GB of default memory capacity that can be expanded further using a microSD card.
The main camera is an 8MP sensor with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. At the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera with a similar aperture. The battery capacity is a 2,600mAh battery on the 5-inch offering.
The Galaxy On5 Pro features standard connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS.
