Samsung Galaxy S11+ To Offer Custom 108MP Camera Sensor
Samsung is set to debut its flagship Galaxy S11, Galaxy S11+, and the cheaper Galaxy S11e next year. The device has been tipped numerous times via leaks. The new leaks reveal some details on the camera features of the Galaxy S11+.
The 3D-based CAD renders of the Galaxy S11+ that surfaced online previously suggested a square-camera module at the rear, housing as many as five sensors. Now, popular leakster Ice Universe has indicated a 108MP sensor on the Galaxy S11+.
The Galaxy S11+ uses a 1 / 1.3-inch 108MP Samsung exclusive custom sensor, which is superior in quality to ISOCELL Bright HMX and has a high cost.

As per the leaks, Samsung might equip the Galaxy S11+ with an 'exclusive custom' 108MP camera with a 1.3-inch sensor size. Notably, this sensor is said to be better than the 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor by the company. Also, the new sensor is said to be developed in collaboration with Xiaomi.
For reference, the 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX sensor offers a 0.8-micron pixel size and offers a Tetracell technology, 6K video recording, and supports Smart ISO mechanism as well. However, the features offered by the upcoming 'exclusive custom' 108MP sensor are yet to be disclosed.
Some previous leaks have revealed that the Galaxy S11 series camera is likely to be equipped with 5X optical zoom, Deep Fusion technology, and 8K video recording. As for the remaining hardware, the Galaxy S11+ is said to sport a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and QHD+ resolution.
The device is likely to feature a center-aligned punch-hole for the selfie camera. An octa-core Snapdragon 865 SoC or an Exynos 990 chipset (depending on the market) is speculated to be the powerhouse of the Galaxy S11+.
The device will be available with at least 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. However, there could be a possibility that the company introduces multiple RAM and storage configurations of the device.
The handset also showed up on Geekbench running on Android 10 OS. The device is most likely to offer One UI 2.0 user interface. The handset has been leaked with a 5,000 mAh battery which will support both wireless and fast charging.
