Samsung Galaxy S23 and XCover 6 Pro Tactical Edition Launched in the US

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition and Galaxy XCover 6 Pro for the US military, three years after the Tactical Edition of the Galaxy S20 made its debut. The company has also released the XCover 6 Pro alongside the S23 Tactical Edition.

Both smartphones are touted as "mission-ready" and are said to meet the US military security requirements. They come with Samsung Knox and Knox Dual Data at Rest (DualDAR), which protect confidential data.

Samsung's latest military-grade devices are equipped with the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) and the Battlefield Assisted Trauma Distributed Observation Kit (BATDOK). While the former enhances real-time situational awareness, the latter collects information about real-time patient encounters.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition: Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Tactical Edition comes with special features such as stealth mode and night vision mode. The smartphone is covered by a military-grade case that can either be worn on the forearm or mounted on the chest for hands-free use. In addition, it comes with Armor Aluminum and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection.

Meanwhile, the remaining specifications are the same as the standard Galaxy S23. The smartphone sports a 6.1-inch display with a full-HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The Tactical Edition is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. It comes with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB UFS 4.0 storage. Additionally, it features a 3,900mAh battery coupled with support for 25W wired and 15W wireless fast charging.

Galaxy XCover 6 Pro Tactical Edition: Specifications

The Galaxy XCover 6 Pro Tactical Edition features a rugged design and comes with an IP68 rating for dust, sand, and water resistance. The smartphone has an MIL-STD-810H certification and is said to survive drops of up to 5 feet.

The XCover 6 Pro Tactical Edition sports a 6.6-inch PLS LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the smartphone is a Snapdragon 778G processor. It also features a 4,050mAh battery.
