Samsung Galaxy S23 FE With Snapdragon Chipset Surfaces On Geekbench

Samsung could soon add another smartphone variant to the Galaxy S23 series. New Geekbench benchmark scores have been revealed for an upcoming Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

While the brand skipped the Samsung Galaxy S22 FE, the company appears to have reconsidered and the Galaxy S23 series premium Android smartphones should include the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE 5G.

According to a new Geekbench listing, the Samsung device bearing model number SM-S711W features a motherboard codenamed "Taro." The chipset packs eight cores out of which the prime performance core is clocked at 3.0 GHz.

Three performance cores are clocked at 2.50 GHz, while four additional CPU cores should support routine operations that aren't resource hungry. These Efficiency cores are clocked at 1.79 GHz.

These chipset specifications suggest Samsung has chosen Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. However, the core clocks are slightly lower. This implies Samsung may have embedded an underclocked version of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with a peak clock speed of 3.0GHz.

The phone reached a multi-core score of 3,746 and a single-core score of 1,567. These are impressive numbers but sit well below the scores achieved by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

Another variant of the Galaxy S23FE bearing model number SM-S711U1 surfaced recently. The "U1" suffix in the Samsung SM-S711U1 indicates that the phone is intended for North American markets, US and Canada.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE 5G To Launch In Three Chipset Variants?

The latest listing indicates Samsung is readying three variants of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE 5G: SM-S711W, SM-S711U1, and SM-S711B. All listings have confirmed the smartphone will have a variant with 8GB RAM.

The Exynos variant could be headed to multiple international markets. Meanwhile, the two Snapdragon variants of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE 5G could be headed to the US and Canada.

It is not immediately clear which variant will head to India. However, some reports suggest Samsung should offer the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE 5G smartphone with a Snapdragon chipset In India.
