Samsung Galaxy S24 Line-up is Getting Android 16-Based One UI 8 Beta Update on August 13

Samsung has expanded its One UI 8 Beta programme to include more devices, though the exact rollout timeline was initially undisclosed. A tipster has now revealed that the One UI 8 Beta for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is expected to launch next week. Meanwhile, users of the Galaxy S23 series might get access to the beta update and its new features in September.

Tarun Vats shared details about the One UI 8 Beta release schedule on X (formerly Twitter). According to Vats, the beta update for the Galaxy S24 series will be available on August 13. The Galaxy S23 series will receive it starting September 8. However, these dates may vary by a day or two due to potential changes by Samsung.

Beta Programme Expansion

This information aligns with Samsung's announcement on August 5 regarding the expansion of its One UI 8 Beta programme. At that time, Samsung stated that the beta for the Galaxy S24 series, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, would be released "next week". Other models like the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 are scheduled to receive updates beginning in September.

Users interested in participating can register for the beta programme through the Samsung Members app, accessible in 36 countries. However, feature availability will differ based on location, and not all regions will have access to every feature.

Additional Device Updates

The South Korean tech company appears to be planning a broader release of One UI 8 beyond previously mentioned devices. This is suggested by reports of a test build for the Galaxy S21 FE found on Samsung's server, identified by build number G990EXXUHHYH2.

The stable version of Android 16-based firmware is already available but limited to specific models such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. These models were introduced at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event in July.

Samsung's strategy indicates a commitment to expanding its software offerings across various devices while ensuring regional adaptability. This approach allows users worldwide to experience new features tailored to their specific needs and preferences.
