Samsung Galaxy S25 FE to Feature Flexible OLED Display: Report
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S25 FE in the second half of this year. Recently, CAD-based renders of the upcoming device have emerged online, providing an initial glimpse of its design.
Now, the latest report indicates that Samsung Electronics plans to incorporate flexible OLED technology in its new Galaxy S FE (Fan Edition) series this year. This development marks a shift from the rigid OLED used in the previous model, the Galaxy S24 FE.

Flexible OLED Adoption
The decision to use flexible OLED is significant as it allows for a thinner device compared to those with rigid OLED panels. Samsung Display is set to commence mass production of these OLED panels for the Galaxy S25 FE this month.
According to ZDNet Korea, the Galaxy S25 FE will feature a 6.7-inch display with flexible OLED technology. This move aligns with Samsung's strategy to expand flexible OLED usage in semi-flagship models like the Galaxy S FE and Galaxy A series.
Market research firm Omdia reports a 15% year-on-year increase in flexible OLED smartphone shipments in Q1, reaching 151 million units. Flexible OLEDs now account for 50% of the smartphone market, while LCD and rigid OLED shares are declining.
Samsung Galaxy S25 FE - What We Know So Far
The upcoming device will likely boast a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 2,600 nits. These features promise an enhanced viewing experience for users. The Galaxy S25 FE is also expected to have reduced bezels and measure 161.4 x 76.6 x 7.4 mm. This makes it slightly thicker than the Galaxy S25 but slimmer than its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 FE.
It could be powered by the Exynos 2400, paired with 8GB of RAM. On the software front, it may run on Android 16 with One UI 8 out of the box and offer seven years of software updates.
Samsung's move towards flexible OLEDs reflects a broader industry trend towards more advanced display technologies in smartphones. As these technologies become more prevalent, consumers can expect thinner and more visually appealing devices.
