Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, S25 Plus, S25 Receive Android 17-Based Stable One UI 9 Update

Samsung’s One UI 9 rollout has reportedly expanded to the Galaxy S25 series, giving users of the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra in South Korea access to the stable Android 17-based update. The release appears to include users who were not part of Samsung’s earlier beta programme.

The update follows Samsung’s initial One UI 9 release for the Galaxy S26 series. That rollout began in South Korea on September 16 and reached users in the US on September 23. If Samsung follows a similar pattern, Galaxy S25 users in the US could begin seeing the update notification within the next week.

One UI 9 Reaches Galaxy S25 and Foldable Beta Users

Early user reports from Korea suggest the stable One UI 9 build for the Galaxy S25 series carries firmware version S938NKSUCDZIF. The download size is said to be around 3.9GB, which is typical for a major Android platform upgrade rather than a routine monthly security patch.

Samsung’s 2025 foldables are also moving closer to a wider stable release. Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 users who were enrolled in the One UI 9 beta programme are reportedly receiving the stable build. The status of the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE remains unclear for now.

For Galaxy Z Fold7 users moving from beta software to the stable version, the reported firmware build is F966NKSUCCZIH. The beta-to-stable package appears to be around 500MB. Users upgrading directly from One UI 8.5 should expect a larger file, as that path includes the full platform update.

What Galaxy Users Should Know Before Updating

One UI 9 is based on Android 17, so the update is expected to bring deeper system-level changes than a regular feature drop. Samsung has not detailed every region-specific change in the user reports, but major One UI upgrades usually include interface refinements, privacy updates, performance changes and updated Samsung apps.

Users should keep enough free storage available before installing the update. It is also sensible to back up important data and connect the phone to Wi-Fi, especially for those downloading the full package. Battery charge should be above 50 percent, or the device should remain plugged in during installation.

The timing also lines up with Samsung Thailand’s earlier rollout schedule, which listed September 28 for the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z7 series. The same communication previously mentioned the Galaxy S23 FE for October, but that wording was later changed to “later this year”.

For now, the stable One UI 9 rollout appears to be starting with South Korea before expanding elsewhere. Samsung typically releases major updates in phases, so availability may vary by country, carrier and device variant even within the same model family.
