Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have received a price cut in India within a few weeks of the launch of their successors - Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. The official Samsung online store has listed the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at the new pricing. Notably, these smartphones received the Android 8,0 Oreo update back in February ahead of the announcement of their successors.

The Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S8+ with 128GB models have received the price cuts. The Galaxy S8 64GB model is priced at Rs. 49,990 and the Galaxy S8+ 64GB model is priced at Rs. 53,990. Also, the 128GB variant of the Galaxy S8+ will be available at Rs. 64,900. Notably, the official Samsung online store also provides offers such as exchange discount, EMI payment options and Paytm offers. These offers depend based on the model, which you choose to buy.

To refresh, these smartphones are quite identical on the specifications front. The differences are in the dimensions, display size, and battery capacity. Both the smartphones feature an Infinity Display panel with a dual-edge curved display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. The Galaxy S8 adorns a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with 2960 x 1440 pixels while the Galaxy S8+ bestows a larger 6.2-inch display with the same technology and resolution.

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have been launched in India with the Exynos 8895 SoC. This processor is teamed up with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space. The high-end Galaxy S8+ variant alone comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space. All the variants have a hybrid SIM slot supporting up to 256GB of additional storage.

For imaging, the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ have a 12MP 'Dual Pixel' rear camera with OIS and f/1.7 aperture. There is an 8MP selfie camera with f/1.7 aperture and autofocus. The other goodies include Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C, Samsung Pay, heart rate sensor, iris scanner, facial recognition, and fingerprint scanner. The notable feature is the Bixby voice assistant and IP68 certification as well.

The Galaxy S8 has a 3000mAh battery while the Galaxy S8+ has a 3500mAh battery. Both the smartphones come with support for fast charging and wireless charging.
