Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ with 128/256GB storage available for pre-orders
Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ now with more storage to stack up videos and pictures.
Samsung has made a new announcement for the consumers in the US. The customers will now be able to get their hands on the Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones with more storage. The device will now be available in 128GB and 256GB variants. Users can pre-order the device starting May 1, or participate in the sale on May 18.
The new variants will come in all regular colors-black, blue, and purple-and will only be available directly from Samsung. The standard S9 models will be priced at $769.99 and $819.99 for 128GB and 256GB, respectively. The S9+, on the other hand, will sell for $889.99 and $939.99 respectively.
The company will bundle either a free set of Gear IconX wireless earbuds, which retails for $159.99, or offer the Gear S3 at a discounted price of $99 compared to its original price of $279. Both deals seem beneficial for the customers.
Indian market already has the S9 with more storage. The devices were launched in 64 and 256GB variants in the country. As for the specifications, the Galaxy S9 has a 5.8-inch Infinity display and the Galaxy S9+ has a larger 6.2-inch Infinity display. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The bigger variant offers 1440 x 2960 pixel at 529ppi. The screen renders deep black to conceal the iris sensor and gives a minimalist and uniform aesthetic. The smartphone uses the octa-core Snapdragon 845 processor with 4GB/6GB of RAM.
The 128GB Galaxy S9 will be selling at a price of Rs 61,900, while the S9+ with 128GB will be available for Rs 68,900. To recall, the 64GB variant sells for Rs 57,900, while the 256GB holds a price tag of Rs 65,900. Talking of bigger sibling, the 64GB variant is priced at Rs 64,900, and the 256GB variant comes at Rs 72,900.
Additionally, Samsung through its Indonesia website gave us a peek into how the new two phones - the Galaxy A6 and A6+ will shape up.
Both devices pack 18.5:9 Infinity Displays with slim bezels. The A6 sports a 5.6-inch display with a 1480 x 720 pixel resolution, while the A6+ has a 6-inch with a resolution of 2200 x 1080 pixels. Both smartphones come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, face recognition, and support for Bixby Home and Bixby Vision, but misses out on Bixby Voice.
According to CMR's India mobile handset market review report for 1Q 2018, the super premium segment (Rs 50,000) saw Samsung taking top honors ahead of flagships from Apple iPhone and Google Pixel 2.
