Samsung Galaxy S9 might have just passed through Geekbench with Snapdragon 845, 6GB RAM
Samsung will soon be unveiling its flagship Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ are the most talked about smartphones right now. The company is all set to unveil its flagships on February 25, one day before the commencement of MWC 2018. With just a couple of weeks to go for the launch event, new details regarding the smartphone keep emerging almost every other day. Even the official invite for the Galaxy S9 duo gives us some clues about what to expect.
While the leaks and rumors are fine, it is quite surprising that the smartphones have not appeared on any benchmark websites yet. Having said that, a mysterious device with its model number hidden has just passed through the Geekbench, revealing some of its key specs. Looking at the specs and the Geekbench scores, we think the device is none other than the Samsung Galaxy S9. Of course, we are not totally sure about this, but the chances are likely.
Listed specifications
The smartphone is listed on Geekbench with Snapdragon 845 SoC. This further strengthen our believe that the smartphone is indeed the Samsung Galaxy S9 as the Galaxy S9 duo are expected to be the first smartphones with Qualcomm's latest flagship processor.
The Geekbench listing also shows the presence of 6GB of RAM and Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.
Earlier reports also claimed that the Galaxy S9 would feature a Snapdragon 845 chipset, and Android Oreo operating system.
Geekbench scores
The alleged Samsung Galaxy S9 has manged to obtain a single-core score of 2378 and a multi-core score of 8132. If you recall, the Galaxy S9+ had visited Geekbench in December with similar scores of 2422 and 8351 in the single-core and multi-core test respectively. So it seems possible that the results are for the Galaxy S9.
Samsung Galaxy S9 leaks
When it comes to rest of the specs, the Samsung Galaxy S9 is said to arrive with a 5.8-inch AMOLED display QHD+ Infinity Display with even narrower bezels than its predecessor.
The smartphone is also likely to feature IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage space, and a 3,000mAh battery under the hood.
On the optics front, the Galaxy S9 is speculated to feature a single 12MP rear camera, capable of switching between f/1.5 and f/2.4 apertures. There will also be an 8MP selfie camera at the front.
