Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7: Expected Upgrades, Specs, and Launch Timeline Tipped
Samsung is gearing up for the launch of its Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 later this year, with leaks shedding light on potential upgrades and production schedules. These devices will build on the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, bringing refinements in durability, performance, and design.
According to tipster PandaFlash (@PandaFlashPro), both models are set to introduce a stronger hinge mechanism and reduced display crease visibility, addressing one of the most common concerns with foldable smartphones.

Key Design and Durability Enhancements
One of the biggest improvements rumored for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a nearly invisible display crease. While some traces may still be visible under certain lighting conditions, the new hinge structure and enhanced flexible glass are expected to make the crease far less noticeable than on the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
Additionally, both Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are expected to feature larger vapor chambers, which should help with better heat dissipation and sustained performance. The devices are also likely to retain the pill-shaped speaker design and button placement seen in previous models.
Performance and Software: Snapdragon vs. Exynos
A key highlight of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is its expected Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, a flagship processor designed to handle intensive multitasking and AI-driven tasks.
In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 may run on Samsung's in-house Exynos 2500 chipset, which has yet to be officially announced. Both foldables are rumored to come with 12GB of RAM and offer 256GB and 512GB storage variants, while the Z Fold 7 could also have a 1TB storage option.
On the software front, both devices are reportedly being tested with Android 15-based One UI 7.1. This version is expected to introduce new Galaxy AI features, which will also roll out to the Galaxy S25 series.
Display and Brightness Improvements
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are tipped to feature displays with 2,600 nits peak brightness, making them among the brightest foldable screens yet. This upgrade could significantly improve outdoor visibility and overall display quality.
Production Timeline and Pricing
According to leaks, Samsung will begin production of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in May 2025, keeping the devices on track for a mid-year launch. Pricing is expected to remain the same as the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6, meaning no major cost increases for consumers.
What to Expect
With improvements in durability, display quality, thermal management, and processing power, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 are shaping up to be refined versions of their predecessors rather than complete redesigns. Samsung appears focused on enhancing the user experience rather than making drastic design changes.
While official details are yet to be confirmed, these leaks provide a good glimpse into what could be Samsung's most refined foldable lineup yet.
