Samsung might launch Galaxy S8 Lite and Galaxy A8 Star

Earlier this month a Samsung smartphone was spotted on Geekbench listing with code name SM-G8750. The model with dual camera setup got the China certification recently. The phone was said to be called S9 mini, but now the same Twitter user is claiming that it will be released as Galaxy S8 Lite in China.

However, the recent Bluetooth certification revealed the 'Lite' tag of the phone. As we already have the specification of the Galaxy S8 Lite. Here is the specification of Samsung Galaxy A8 Star.

The Geekbench listing already revealed that the phone will be powered by a Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage, which can be expanded up to 400GB with microSD.

Apart from the hardware, previously the phone is expected to feature a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ display, but it seems that the screen resolution will be 2960 × 1440 pixels and Super AMOLED Infinity display.

As far as the rear camera is concerned this mobile is expected to come with a dual camera setup with the combination of the dual 12-megapixel rear camera sensor. On the front, the smartphone houses an 8MP autofocus front-facing camera with wide-angle lens. The smartphone also comes with a biometric scanner which is placed in the middle of the rear panel.

The Galaxy S8 Star is said to come with Water and dust resistant features with the IP68 certification. The smartphone will offer connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4/5GHz), VHT80 MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 5 (LE up to 2Mbps), GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, MST.

The smartphone will be backed by a 3700mAh battery which will also come with a fast charging support. The S8 Star will run on Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box. The smartphone is expected to come with the Dimensions of 147.7mm x 68.7mm x 8.4mm and Weight around 163g.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is expected to come in Black and Blue colors. Both the phones are expected to go official in the next few weeks.
