Samsung has officially started rolling out the stable One UI 8.5 update, bringing several new Galaxy AI features, camera upgrades, and interface improvements to older flagship Galaxy devices. The update first debuted with the Galaxy S26 series and is now reaching select premium smartphones and tablets in South Korea.

The latest One UI 8.5 update is currently available for Galaxy S25 series users in South Korea and will gradually expand to more regions in the coming weeks.

Samsung confirmed that the One UI 8.5 update is rolling out to the following devices:

  • Samsung Galaxy S25 FE
  • Samsung Galaxy S24 lineup
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S11 series
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series

According to reports, the stable release follows an extensive beta testing cycle that reportedly included 10 beta updates for the Galaxy S25 lineup.

One UI 8.5 Brings New Galaxy AI Features

Samsung is introducing several AI-powered tools that first launched with the Galaxy S26 series. These include:

  • Agentic AI features
  • Creative Studio tools
  • Improved Audio Eraser
  • Smarter Bixby interactions
  • Bixby Text Call with Call Screening
  • Continuous AI image generation
  • AI photo editing through text prompts
  • Object transfer between images using Photo Assist

Samsung has also upgraded the Interpreter feature with automatic language detection during conversations.

Camera and Interface Improvements

The One UI 8.5 update also adds several camera-focused enhancements, including:

  • Real-time Log video LUT previews
  • Dual recording using front and rear cameras
  • Automatic motion photo detection
  • Improved document scanning with automatic cleanup

Samsung has redesigned parts of the interface with updated blur effects, floating UI elements, weather-based wallpapers, downloadable wallpapers, and more customisable lock screen clocks. Users will also see Now Brief suggestions directly on the lock screen.

Privacy, Battery, and Health Upgrades

Samsung Health now offers enhanced weekly reports, workout-sharing improvements, meditation controls via Galaxy Watch devices, and antioxidant measurements on supported watches.

The update also introduces:

  • Redesigned battery usage screens
  • New theft protection tools
  • Enhanced Knox Matrix monitoring
  • Privacy alerts
  • Partial screen recording
  • Advanced reminder alerts
  • Better DeX window management
  • Improved Quick Share support for Apple devices
  • Bluetooth hearing aid controls
  • Expanded accessibility features

Samsung says the rollout will continue expanding to more regions and compatible Galaxy devices over the coming weeks.
