Samsung One UI 8.5 Update Now Available on Galaxy S Series Flagships and Foldables in India and Globally

Owners of recent Galaxy phones and tablets are finally getting the One UI 8.5 update from May 11. After a limited launch in Korea on May 6, Samsung is widening availability across many regions, with premium models from the last two years at the front of the queue.

The software rollout is global in scope and continues through the coming days. Korea is being joined by Europe, Hong Kong, India, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. Other markets are expected later, as Samsung traditionally pushes firmware in several waves rather than all at once.

One UI 8.5 Update: Supported Devices

Samsung is starting with high-end Galaxy phones and tablets. The Galaxy S25 family, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7 were the first to receive the stable One UI 8.5 build. Many other recent flagships, including Fan Edition models and premium Galaxy Tab devices, are being added to the schedule.

One UI 8.5 Update Plans for Mid-range Phones

Samsung Germany has indicated that some Galaxy A-series smartphones could also receive the stable One UI 8.5 update. The exact timing for these mid-range models is unclear. They may be upgraded alongside the flagship devices listed, or the rollout might arrive slightly later, depending on model and region.

Once the One UI 8.5 update becomes available for a particular device, users can check manually. The path remains familiar: open Settings, select Software update, then start the download. Devices already running the One UI 8.5 beta build should see a smaller download than those jumping directly from One UI 8.

Rollout Timing and One UI 8.5 Update Download Size

For users upgrading from One UI 8, the One UI 8.5 update package can span several gigabytes. Anyone on the beta track will receive a lighter installation file, as fewer system components need changing. Because Samsung prefers a phased deployment, reaching every eligible device in all regions may take a couple of weeks.

Samsung has not provided a strict calendar for each country, so the appearance date can differ. Two customers using the same model in different regions might see the One UI 8.5 update at separate times. Patience is therefore required, even for devices named early in the official list.
