Samsung One UI 9.0 Stable Update Based on Android 17 Rolls Out for Galaxy S26 Series: Check New Features

Samsung has started rolling out the stable One UI 9.0 update for its Galaxy S26 series, bringing the latest Android 17-based software experience to its flagship smartphones. The update follows a public beta programme that began in May and introduces a refreshed design, smoother animations, improved multitasking and several usability-focused changes.

The stable rollout is currently limited to South Korea, where Galaxy S26 series users are receiving firmware version S94xNKSU4BZ16. The package also includes the September 2026 security patch, adding the latest security fixes alongside the new software experience.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy S26 FE already shipped with One UI 9.0 pre-installed. With the latest rollout, Samsung is now bringing the stable software to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+ and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

One UI 9.0 Brings Smoother Animations

One of the key changes in One UI 9.0 is a greater focus on system animations and transitions. Samsung has refined visual feedback across several parts of the interface, making everyday interactions feel smoother.

The improvements can be noticed when opening the app drawer, tapping the search bar, navigating through home screen folders and accessing the widget menu. Multitasking transitions have also been refined to provide a more fluid experience when switching between tasks.

Dynamic Music Player Gets an Upgrade

Samsung has also made changes to the multimedia experience. The default music player can now display a dynamic music wavelength in the Now Bar, adding a more visual element to media playback.

Users can expand the media player widget to access a larger set of playback controls. The interface adapts to different screen layouts while incorporating album artwork into the overall design.

Quick Settings Gets More Customisation

One UI 9.0 also introduces additional customisation options to the Quick Settings panel. Users can now manually resize the available toggles, giving them greater control over how frequently used controls are arranged.

Samsung has also increased the thickness of the brightness and volume sliders, making them easier to see and interact with. The changes are relatively subtle but should make adjusting these settings more convenient.

One UI 9.0 Rollout Expands Soon

Galaxy S26 series owners in South Korea can check for the update by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Users with automatic updates enabled over Wi-Fi may receive the update without manually checking.

Samsung is expected to expand the stable One UI 9.0 rollout to India and other global markets in the coming weeks, although availability may vary by region and carrier.
